In this in-person class with Jackie Pilette, participants will learn the variety of pollinators, their roles in the natural world and in the backyard garden, as well as current issues that they are facing. Other topics will surround incorporating native plants into landscaping designs, planting ideas and considerations to benefit pollinators, and other ways you can help pollinators. Participants will become familiar with resources for pollinators at the local, state, and national level. Also to be discussed is how to become a Michigan State University certified "Pollinator Champion”, and teaching others about the pollinating world.
Participants will also get a voucher for a tree or shrub to plant through the Emmet Conservation District Spring Tree Sale to spread the love for pollinators.
