Blu Dot Farm & Vineyard, 11399 Boyne City Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720 The entrance is about 2 miles east of the intersection of US-31 and Boyne City Road. Blu Dot Farm & Vineyard has a long and varied history. The main barn was built sometime in the late 1800’s. The property was originally an asparagus farm. In the mid 1960’s the farm was used to breed and train harness racing horses. In 2019 the current owners planted the first 3 acres of vines with the dream of growing grapes and making wine. The estate vineyard now encompasses roughly 10 acres consisting of 6,000 vines. Each individual vine is handled with care throughout its growing cycle. Blu Dot general manager, Sam Smiertka, will provide us with a tour and share her knowledge of growing grapes in Northern Michigan. You may choose to stay for a wine tasting following our meeting ($15 per person includes a souvenir glass). Please RSVP to Beth bethcowie@mac.com to let her know if you are attending the tour and meeting and if you wish to stay for the optional wine tasting.
