The Boyne City Arbor Day celebration is Friday, April 25 from 10 am to Noon inside the pavilion at Veteran's Park. The park is downtown Boyne City on Lake Charlevoix and just south of the City Office/Fire Department Building. The park also hosts the Farmer's Market which may be a more familiar landmark to use to find us. We are participating at the invitation of Boyne Valley Garden Club and have presented the Smart Gardening information for the last two years.  Smart Gardeners and Trainees are welcome to support the work at the table. Plan to arrive around 9:45 am or drop by our table if you are attending. Other nonprofit agencies will also be presenting. In celebration of Arbor Day, the City, in partnership with the Boyne Valley Garden Club and Friends of the Boyne River, will distribute over 700 evergreen tree seedlings, including Blue and Norway Spruce, Red and White Pine and a variety of deciduous trees. This year marks the 21st consecutive year of earning the designation of "Tree City USA.” More details on the tree giveaway will be announced soon.
